Hyundai HTP4240 - Cold start problems -
Hi all - I have a Hyundai HTP4240 42" plasma that will not start from cold -momentarily heating the DGK-420W power supply with a hairdryer solves the problem and the TV works perfectly - Any ideas???
(I have replaced the big blue 630v caps already - made no difference )
Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Most likely, some bad electrolytic caps. When an electrolytic dries out, it may still sort of work as a capacitor when it's hot but not when it's cold.

In first instance, check for any electrolytics that are clearly faulty - leaking, bulging tops, etc. Unless you find any suspect ones by that way, you will have to check them with a LCR meter, measuring capacitance and ESR.

C103 was the problem - 50v 10uf - Thanks for the info Torbjorn )
