Folks,
Issue is a very famous fault on this Plasma: Picture disappears and screen stays black, after rebooting the same game.
My knowledge so far:
My 180 and 60 V misses a short time after boot up.
This may take a short or a long time but not more than 10 minutes.
The panel has now a total of 3500 hours, picture is very well.
The plasma is on my desk and its opened for troubleshooting.
I saw that the big power supply which is located in the middle of the TV has the following feature:
small plug from digi board: Power supply on/off, by pulling this plug I can start the big supply manually.
right red plug: 180 and 60 Volt out
left red plug: 5V out, 3 signals from the panel: 1.5, 2.0 and 3 Volt DC.
It doesnt matter if the power supply is switching off, these feedback lines are not changing and there is no RF signal on it at any case, just the DC.
My panel works good,(if its supplied of course) and I do not understand the reason that the power supply is switching off..
I suppose its doing a current out measurement and when its over the limit its protecting the panel or what ever and switches off.
Do you think I am on the right way ?
Hope anyone investigated more time in this fail for helping all the other guys who have the same fail on this wonderful plasma !!
Best regards from Germany,

Check your VS/VA voltages listed on the panel. Disconnect the X any Y sustain boards. If you disconnect them and your VS and VA come up you have a bad panel. If they don't, suspect power supply. |

Hi minnie,
THX a lot!!
VS/VA: These are the voltages which come out from the power supply at the backward, the +180V and the 60 V, RIGHT ?
(this power lines goes directly to the electronic to the panel)
X and Y driver: This are the big power boards at the left and the right side of the panel with the big black cooling units ?
Just disconnect them and see if the voltages 60/180 stay good in this CASE ?
Best regards,

Will the power supply be damaged if I disconnect the panel ?
I mean, will the output voltage raise up immediately and it destroys itself ?
I can remember the very first old switching poer supply always needs a load to work ??
best regards
