Dell Latitude d610 is dead, Pls. Help

Pl. help me with my dell latitude d610 which does not come on neither on battery nor on adapter.

As soon as I connect it to the adapter the green LED goes off.

Pls Helppppp. Thanx in advance.

How does the green adapter come on in the first place? Was there a charge already there?

If it happens when you plug it in, just try a different plug from the wall to the adapter if you have an extra one lying around. If you have another laptop adapter (eg the adapter box and the cord to the wall) and it has the exact same voltage as yours you can try that. Let us know what happens to proceed further.
