Hello, I bought the crappy rca , only 3 years old , walmart special...
the power light was coming on blinking 3 times , and the set would shut off.
I found these help websites and started reading .
I decided my problem was the fly back, and a cap. My cap # 150 was bulged out at the top slightly so I did remove it
I looked over all the rest of the board and found no more bad caps
I bought the flyback and cap , removed the old ones, and today soldered in the new flyback and #150 cap
I hit the power and the tv works !!!
However I had a "fuzzy" picture that was hour glassed shaped
After inspecting the board, I found a ribbon cable that I must have bumped , which had come out ao I shut down the power and I reseated it, and on power up the tv became near perfect
HOWEVER (again lol) I still have a problem (small one)
whenever there is words on the screen, they are fuzzy and behind the letters in the word is another letter, in red
Its like the words are written over themselves and the underlying word is in red
I hope I described that ok , i guess what im trying to say is....
I read up , I got the correct parts , I soldered them in.... im this close to my kids having 52" spongebob , and its a little fuzzy , and I dont want to put it back together until its darn near perfect
does anyone know what could be the probelem?
The whole picture is a little out of focus (not bad) and the words have a red shadow _________________ Ohio Fishing reports www.ohfishing.com |

Minnie I was hoping you would help me, I checked all 3 of the fuses in that area , all 3 have the spring looking fuse intact
my wife noticed the poor solder on one of the flyback pins, and I resoldered it, and on power up it was LITTLE BETTER
the red letter shadow was alot smaller but still there , also the picture got a little better also, its almost near perfect , i hope i can fix this my little ones are praying for a fix! _________________ Ohio Fishing reports www.ohfishing.com |
