|

Have a JVC AV-27320 TV. Suspect my 2 year old son poured some water into the set. When we saw, the onscreen menu items were scrolling automatically.
Now, we do not see color picture for cable. There is some hazy reddish diagonal lines...if i change color to black and white using remote or TV buttons, it is viewable. Connected DVD player and got the same results.
Surprisingly, the onscreen menu comes up in the correct color.
Any suggestions? |

Have you tried waiting until the set fully dries out? |

have waited for about 2 weeks now... have also removed back cover and kept the set out where it can receive direct sunlight.
I did not see him put the water in the back, but saw some water in the front of the screen/menu buttons. He cannot reach the back area.
Initially, I thought maybe the tuner is off, because the reception is like what you may receive when the signal is weak. But when I connected just the DVD player, the picture quality is the same.
The thing that I find surprising is that the onscreen menu items come up with the proper colors (with the correct black background). It is only the picture that is like this. It becomes better when I turn the color down to black and white using remote or thru menu buttons on the set. |

Any thoughts on why the on-screen menu items come up with proper color, but the picture does not? |

I don't believe it's a PAL system set. |
