Hitachi 50EX16B Intermittent

My Hitachi 50EX16B will sometimes work for about an hour before the
problem starts. The picture suddenly becomes washed out with red, green and blue lines running diagonally (about 25° or so) through it.

Sometimes it will remain powered on but normally, after a few minutes the power shuts down.

Not sure what the problem is and would appreciate any kind of help I can get.

I'm an experienced tech but have never worked on a projection TV
before so I'm a little timid.

In first instance, check the supply voltage to the video output stages.
