Can anyone tell me how to get this television to recognise my new SAMSUNG DVD recorder? I understand thta it needs to go to AV mode; the question is how. All connections are correct. I have the right remote. What buttons should do this to bring up a menu?

Without knowing what labels are on the buttons on your tv and/or your remote - I can't find a photo of remote or even free user manual.
You're looking for something along the lines of "Video," Input," "Aux.," "Line," etc. May even have to be in "menu" first. Some makers even arrange so that line inputs are "above highest channel" (or "below lowest channel"). Repeatedly pressing "channel down" (assuming ALL stations are "in memory") Ch. 5, Ch. 4, Ch. 3, Ch. 2, Line 1, Line 2, etc.
