I'm having some problems with my Kenwood DNX7100. It turns on fine, but the touchscreen is unresponsive and so are the front buttons. The only exception is the Eject button: nothing happens if I do a short press, but if I hold it a little longer, the screen goes all the way down to the SD slot. **Forgot to mention the first time, but the Reset button works also. So the only buttons that work are the Reset and Eject.** The display looks fine. The flex from the display to the board also looks fine.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

**Also, if anyone has a schematic for the unit, that would help, too.**

you may have either a bad switch or a bad flexible cable. if you have a multimeter, check the switches to see if any reads less than afew meg or so. if ;you have one that reads a few kilo, it is probably bad

I measured the switches and they all read OL open and .1ohm closed. Also measured the touchscreen and it measures OL when not pressed, and some resistance when pressed. The flexes look good to me so now I've started going back on the button traces to see if I find any problem spots. But it's getting pretty tedious and it's going slow since I don't have a shematic.

I forgot to mention in the original post that the Reset button on the front also works. So to recap: the touchscreen doesn't work and of the buttons only Reset and Eject work.

Well, it ended up being a bad switch. I somehow missed it the first time I checked them. Maybe it was intermittent. Anyway, thanks for the help.
