Renault in dash cd changer!

Hi all.

I have a Renault in dash 6 cd changer, bought second hand. Seller seemed genuine enough, although I'm still waiting to hear back from him! Accepted a code, done all it's cluncking and whiring, etc. the thing is, I can't get it to accept any discs! It seems that there is some kind of flap thing inside the face of the unit and it's not lifting. I've followed all the instructions in case I was doing something wrong. I can get to a stage where the dash display says "wait", but after a while it's supposed to say "insert", but it doesn't!

Any idea's/suggestions???

send it back if you can and buy a single disc player. in dash changers are totally unreliable and go bad rather quickly.
