hitachi 42pd5000
got a weired problem, screen works ok with good picture but after a short while i will lose picture and it will go to blank background? sometimes will work ok for up to 20 mins and picture will go blank. other times it will work ok then 5 mins later will go blank then picture will come back on quickly then picture will go blank again go off a short while after again. looks like a imminent fault
anyone any ideas i have resoldered all cold joints i could find on power/y & x boards.

When the picture disappears, if you hit menu on the remote does the menu still come up? |

when picture disappears, if i try menu on remote no on screen display will show just a blank background, but weirdly if i turn tv to standby for a couple of seconds on remote then switch tv back on the tv will come back on and picture will be on again ? |

Have you measured the VS or VA voltage to see if it drops when the picture disappears? |

If the lite is green, and it's NOT IN THE POWER SAVING MODE, at connector cn 68 pin 6 if the voltage is 5 volts it's not the power supply, then check connector cn 64 if pin 1 is between 50 and 70 volts pin 10 is between 75 and 90 volts it' the panel.
1) Press the SUB-POWER button and chanel up button on the bottom of the monitor at the same time, and keep it for
more than 5 seconds after the power turned on.
2) The monitor will be turned on, and it will display On-Screen Display of the Self-check result and the failure history as below.
3) Any operation would cancel the Self -Diagnosis mode.
4) The following table shows the OSD symbols and contents of failure PWB in which failure most probably would
be allocated according to the number of blinks. |

cn 68 pin 6 voltage is 5.05v
connector cn 64 measures 61.8v
cn 64 pin 10 measures 84.5v
Self -Diagnosis mode
