I dropped my camera in the ocean yesterday and took about 5 minutes to find it so it was submerged for a while. I rinsed it in clean water to get rid of the salt and opened the case to dry it out. Still dead. Sony wants $120 just to look at it. What are the chances of them actually being able to fix it? I love the camera and it is over $350 to buy again... |

Same thing happened to me. Mine fell in a stream while on vacation. I took it apart and let it dry over fireplace but no luck. After I bought a new camera some time after, I went back to check on the old one and it was working. So if you wait until it dries, it may come back to life. Now I have 2 cameras. |

if it came in to me for repair i would advise not even trying to sort it, best bet would be to get in touch with your insurance company. |
