My Sony 36XBR450 TV is nine years old and has never had any problems, but now it seems to be losing the color of red. The grayscale, which I had adjusted in the service menu years ago, is now starting to look bluish green. Is the picture tube wearing out? Is the red gun wearing out? I thought that if one of the color guns went out you would lose that color completely, but there is still red in the picture, just noticeably less than before. I can make the grayscale better by adjusting the red drive and cutoff up and the blue and green down, but I can't get the same grayscale as before. The picture is otherwise as bright and sharp as ever.

Try turning the red up more in the service menu.
