| I know this is an old thread but I was looking at mine and there was an IC on the main board that had a pin that had come off (the middle one) is anyone elses like that? |

Many FETs (IC) have center pin missing intentionally:

Do any of you that have tried to repair your 42L have a photo or diagram of what the insides of the TV look like? I'm looking at replacing the main-board since Vizio was zero help, and we're out of warranty. Although, after reading here it doesn't seem anyone has had success repairing the problem...
I get sound, no picture (no light from inverter boards visible), and remote won't change the channels.. |

does anybody on here still have one of the VW42L vizios that they can't get to work? I have one with a cracked screen. I'll buy somebodies that doesn't power on or has no sound. or if interested I have all good parts for this model... (Ex. Power Supply, Main Board, T-Con Board, and Both Inverter Boards)

| I have a VW42LHDTV10A Vizio, no picture no sound, no response from the remote or the bottons on the set. Have to unplug to turn off, My back lights are coming on and I get a white screen now that I replaced Two voltage regulators U7 and U33, Both fuses F1 & F2 are good. I am safe in thinking it is just a main board problem or could the inverters be bad. Can't find a service manual for it so I don't know how to test the inverters. Can anyone help?? |

| Yup...that's a nice manual. Same as all the garbage copies I find for free. Goes to chapter 3 then skips to chapter 9 |
