Power will not stay on

Hello,

I have a 14 yr old hitachi 50UX19K projection TV and up till a day ago it worked pretty good without doing anything to it. What happened is when I turn on the power I hear the click sound it makes to turn on but the red "on" indicating light flashes about 3 or 4 times and then powers down itself. Is this a easy fix or is this unit pretty much shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
