I have a beko 22.1 chassis where 12V source (LD1086V) is running very hot. LD1086V is turning hot very fast and has a small radiator for this. I think this is the source for instability (going the tv to stand by and back when enter in thermal protection). The consumers for 12V are EW Correction, line oscillator and video finals and those are running OK and 8V source for headphone amplifier (this is running cold). When running there is a long delay in receiving commands from RC or keyboard. If there is someone who can help me with a tip maybe he can tell me what can be the cause for these simptoms?. (I replaced all the capacitors for filtering 12V and 8V and remade the soldering.) Thanks in advance.

Hi,
1. Is input voltage for LD1086V correct? Linear regulators will get very hot if input / output differtial is high - anything higher than 14V may need looking into as drop out voltage of device is only 1.5V max.
2. Is LD1086V faulty ?
3. Try isolating the EW circuit to see if EW correction is the culprit.
4. Try isolating or monitor current level of the remaining two stages ( line osc and vidoe final to see which is more likely the cause of the problem.

The source is making 12V from 15V and I have 400mA through LD1086V. 340mA are running for he line driver through TR502 who is also hot . What can be wrong?
