Sceptre x42bv-fullhd

Hey guys and thanks for any help in advance.

I have a sceptre x42bv-fullhd that i bought my son for winning youth of the year for my city. Last night me and my son sat down to watch a movie togethr and when i turned the tv on the left half has vertical multi colored lines while the right half still displays the picture perfectly. I cant really afford to buy him another one and was hoping some one might be
able to lead me int he right direction for repir.

As far as my skill level i can use a multi meter but my understanding
of tv circutry and boards are limited.
