Hi guys......Am using a PHILIPS VCR to run a DVD player through, as the TV set only has an RF input (no SCART etc). Does anyone know how to stop the VCR going into STANDBY every 8 minutes. PHILIPS say it can't BE modified and it has to go into STANDBY automatically every 8 minutes. I just don't believe that.

unfortunately there is no way of modifying the vcr, i have tried various things to get round it and none worked. cpc in preston http://cpc.farnell.com/ sell free standing rf modulators that will resolve your problem but the audio will be mono.

With Philips vcr's you can usually stop the auto standby function by pressing 'tuner' button on remote. Hope this helps.
