Hi all,

I'm working on a 74cm CRT tv. I repaired the PSU but now when you turn it on it only makes a blue dot in the center of the screen. All the dry joints are fixed. I am suspecting the LOPT to be the problem, but I've never had to test one, how do I know if it has shorted windings?

Then I have a 51cm tv, (similar tv schematic found on site it's a PH03 chassis) in which I also fixed the PSU and everything looks fine, but it has no video or audio input working. And it won't find a channel when tuning. It's main chip is a philips OM8371, for which I can't find any data.

Any suggestions?

Thank you all

Mielie

if this spot is in the center of screen obviously no scan , you say its a crt unit but don't give the model number ?.
Check you have replaced scan coil plugs correctly ,or indeed if you have technical know how check coil feeds . check all caps around scan coil plugs . lastly look for circuit on here and get voltage values etc from this .. good luck and be careful your dealing with high volatges here.
With the PH03 check the simple things first ,plugs , joints on tuner head , and see if you have video to and from if's again check your caps .

It wouldnt hurt to resolder the yoke pins where the wire plugs into the board.also could be a bad yoke.
