Samsung 440(?) 8mm camcorder - lcd screen gone dark

my lcd screen has gone dark. You can still BARELY make out images, but it is very dark. It still works with the view finder, but it sucks without the lcd screen.

Is there something obvious I'm not doing - I adjusted the "bright" and I even replaced a small nickel-size battery that sits in the camera below the lcd screen to no avail.

Any ideas?

Hi,

maybe the backlight for lcd display is gone. check voltage supply to light tube, or try changing it.
