"shivering" lcd

I have a Mag 17" lcd on which the screen "shivers". LT717a, mo. 700p. Can anyone help with this?

Possibly either a problem with the monitor's power supply (check for bulged electrolytic caps in the power supply) or an incompatibility between the monitor and the computer's graphics circuitry. To find out the latter problem, try connecting it to another computer and test with different resolutions settings. If there is a "sharpness" or "phase" item in the monitor's on-screen menus, try adjusting it and see what happens.

Appreciate the reply, Torbjorn. Don't think it's the computer because I've tried it on different machines. But you may well be right about the power supply and I'll check that. I was hoping someone would point me in the right direction before I open it up. I'll post back when I learn anything. Thanks again.
