Hitachi 53UWX10BA No volume or channel control

Buttons on front panel not responding correctly. Volume at 0 and can hold + and volume increases but decreases when released. Also when pressing channel +/- button channels continue to scroll. Doesn't respond to remote either. I have a service manual but not sure what to look for. Please advise!

Sounds like a stuck switch. See if you can isolate keyboard and operate the set with remote (or see if set stays at the previous settings - if remote sensor mounted on same board).
