Model: HP-S5033, Model Code: HPS5033X/XAA, Type: CD50P7
Initial problem: loss picture sound was ok.
I found a 6.3A fuse blown (F5002) on the 50'HD W1 Y-MAIN (Model No on board, not sure if that is really a hyphen) PCB Code: LJ41-04516A.
I replaced the fuse.
Now the Stand-by turns on and off. (relay pulls in then releases)
All caps look good.
The power supply board is a Model PSPF501A01A.
I disconnected a harness that goes to another board which connects to the X-Main & Y-Main. PSB relay continues to cycle on & off.
There's another board behind the board where all the Ant. cable, HDMI, component cables connect (Model Porsche/Cadillac, that's what it says) that is connected to the PSU board with led that flash on and off with the relay cycle.
When I disconnect this board from the PSU, I hear the relay click only once and the led on the power button, on the front of the tv, flashes 4 times and goes out. Note: this other board also connects to the X-Main & Y-Main boards through ribbon cables (not sure how to disconnect these).
I sure hope someone can help me out here.

Minnie,
I unplugged the Y sustain board and the same thing occured.
Note: there is a ribbon cable connected to the Y-Main board that I haven't tried to disconnect. Can't really tell how it snaps in, didn't want to break it. If I need to disconnect it I'll figure it out. The main power plug is disconnected though.
A little more specifics as to what is happening not posted above.
I mentioned a board I can't see straight on. I can tell that there are two green LEDs that light when the relay energizes(I hear the click). About 4 seconds latter a third green LED flashes 4 times and all LEDs go out along with the relay de-energizing. 2 seconds later the relay energizes the LEDs come back on and the cycle starts over.
Thanks for your interest and help.

Have you disconnected the Y and X and no change? Have you disconnected the bottom buffer boards or the Y sustain driver boards? |

minnie,
I found another fuse blown. Thought I had check everything. I waited to reply until I got new fuses.
It's the 5A fuse on the PS board.
I inserted a new fuse and and plugged it in the fuse blew immediately. I had the plug feeding the X&Y boards unplugged.
It looks like the PS board has a short somewhere. The board is pretty busy and checking diodes while in place is not reliable. DO you have any suggestion?
Thanks

I's suspect the Y sustain took out the power supply. My guess is a bad panel took out the Y sustain. I think you're looking at a bad panel. BN96-03290A subs to a BN96-03290 list about $600 plus a $500 core. |

minnie,
That sounds as bad as it gets. Makes sense though. Is there away to test the panel to verify what you suspect?
Thanks for the help,

Not really. If you unplu boards and it comes on, you can narrow it down to that board. Seems you've unplugged all the boards and the set hasn't stayed on. |
