Hi experienced Sir,
I've a stupid question. A Video monitor only has 2 input connections(a video signal line and a ground connection). Why a PC monitor need so many pin connections? What's the function of the individual pins? Sorry for troubling you.

Hi, to answer your qn in short,

- Video monitor works on a composite video mode (ie. multiple signal in one "pipe" - 1 RCA connector). These signal include color (Red, Blue, Green), synch (H & V).

- PC monitor has all these signals splitted into different "pipes". Hence, u need a 15-pin D connector instead of 1 RCA connector.

In comparison, composite video gives poor signal quality due to the "mixture" of signal in one.

Hope that helps. cheers. Wink
