Hey,
LG 42" plasma tv Rt-42px10
So the tv turns on (green light) but fails to produce audio or sound as it flickers in static pictures(faint). So, I assume that there's problem with the power supply, so I opened it up to check for busted capacitors. some guides say that the 2200uF 15V capacitors on he power supply board are the problem but they don't look blown to me. The other capacitors, in the 200uF range on the left side(as you'll see) has the blown stuff.
However, the busted capacitors weren't found on the power supply. On the lefthand of the picture, it shows a few capacitors surrounded by goo which I assume exploded. I also took a picture of the capacitors by the power supply but they seem unperturbed and are flat rather than any dope shape.
Here is the overall look

Here is the pic of the left of the board, showing blown capacitors, I think.

Now, on the top of overall pic is the power supply which I quickly checked for blown capacitors but couldn't find any.

Anyway, so really I just want to make sure that these capacitors are the problem. I have some experience with electronics and I know how to solder, so I figure I'd give this a shot. Does anyone else have experience with this or any information to shed? I just want to make sure that these are likely the culprits of my tv not really working
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Please let me know if I can clarify anything[/img] |

Yeah, I'm not sure. Was just trying to find which capacitors are busted. It makes more sense for it to be on the power supply board but is there something I'm missing? I probably need to take better pics of the capacitors on that side of the board. But none of them seem to be doming or bursted |
