My, 5 year old Hitachi 36CX39B's picture tube has suddenly gone to a all black screen with a thin line (1/4") of picture horizantally through the middle of the screen. At first when did this I could power off, wait a few seconds power on and problem gone. Now the problem is chronic.

problem in vertical difflection section most probebly some dry-jonts in
vertical IC , re-soled all cct ponts in this section and ic as well

Very Happy problem could be due to a vertical feedback problem,in which case you need to check capacitors,or it could just be a dry jointed frame ic or a faulty frame ic
........
