NEC 61mp1 (plasma) w/various stuck vert lines on bot 1/2 scr

I recently acquired an NEC 61MP1/61MX1A that has several vertical columns of stuck pixels (some R, some G, some B) that run from the bottom to the middle of the screen. At first I hoped it would just be an issue of the flex circuit not making connection to the glass, but now I don't think so. I wiggle and poke at the flex-circuits, but it makes NO change on the picture. Now I wonder if it's an electronic problem, or a problem right inside the glass. I'm hoping someone has gone through this and knows what it is. If it's fixable, I'm a tech and can fix it. It'd be a shame to toss such a beautiful monitor.
