Greetings Smile

I am new to this forum and am pleased with the threads I've browsed.
Excuse me if I haven't searched all 350 or so pages Under Equipment repair, but here's my challenge...

I have good repair skills, but am not a professional. My budget is tight and I want to get back to viewing the Stanley Cup play-offs before it's too late. So I'd like to attempt the repair myself.

The Toshiba I'm hoping to repair has recently gone into protect mode.
Prior to this the set worked perfectly with a clean, clear picture: NO issues.

I've taken it apart and found no blown fuses, the foil side of the boards I accessed showed no cold solder joints and the caps and other components were solidly attached to their boards.

No signs of over-heating, no dis-coloration of components. Average amounts of dust (so I took the time to clean the unit).

My reading suggests a power failure, but again I have no experience with this unit.

What's the next step Confused Confused

Pull the protect plug from the top board to the main board and I bet the set comes on with no convergence correction which indicates bad convergence IC's.

Odds are you're right, and you guessed it.
The blue convergence plug is the culprit Exclamation
I'll check surrounding open components and replace those with STK392-180s. I'll also add a ventilation fan...
