After 7 years w/o problems Smile) I got a dead unit SV5000w.
As discussed many times I will replace the caps in the power supply first.
Unfortunately I am stuck during the disassembly - I never opened a VRC before. To get the PCB out I need to remove the stuck tape first - I guess it covers a scew.
Is it possible to just provide power to the motor of the loading unit?
If yes, what voltage? Will it corrupt any adjustments?

Thank you in advance

If you try that, be sure to disconnect motor from the motor drive circuitry.
Start with a few volts, increasing a volt at a time, by the time you hit 9 volts the motor should be turning. One polarity will turn motor in one direction, reverse polarity, the other way.

Thank you for your reply.
"If you try that" sounds to me like "you shouldn't do that".
Is there a better way to get the tape out?
