About a year and a half - 2 years ago, I replaced the IC chips and hyper board in this set... It originally had the jiggly picture and bend lines. The hyperboard fixed the jiggly lines, and the IC chips corrected the lines. However just the other day the picture went out of whack again, and my colours are 3d. I replaced the original STK392-110's with STK392-180's. I felt them after the tv was on for a while and they were warmish cool, not hot as I would expect? Are they pooched again? Or should I be looking elsewhere for this problem? I did not notice any of the colour resistors blown. I don't want to purchase a new set of ICs if this is not my problem. Thanks for any help! |

Check the pico fuses that feed the IC's? |

I thought if they were bad that the set wouldn't have picture or turn on at all? I don't use the set often, and it sat for a while.. say 2 months since it was last on, and it worked then.. but didn't work this time. I will check them as you suggested, but just looking to be sure if replacing the ICs will fix the problem otherwise. |

when you say bias resistors, your speaking about the resistors in behind the IC's that run the colours? I know that the front 3 are ok, but I couldn't reach the back 3 due to space behind the tv... I'll have to get help to move it down. |

There around 1.8 ohms by memory don't forget the jumpers 010 and 050. Also going by memory. Any open pico's? |

So strange thing is, I checked all picos (good) all resistors (good) and touched up solder on 010 and 050.. turned on tv and still had bend menu info. Then all of a sudden it went blank, didn't hear anything at all from the back of the set either! I tried the menu, nothing, I tried touch focus, nothing! SO I went around back, and tested stuff again. Picos F851, 852, and 853 were all popped! I piggy backed new ones on, and turned the set on, and VOILA! Perfect picture again? :S I'm a little confused to what happened, or why, but its up and running great again. Thanks for the help minnie.. as always! |

So, it stopped working again! Does this mean the chips I installed were cheap crap? I have to replace them, or could there be another reason that the picos are popping? |
