Scanning Hitachi CMT2579 TV without original remote. How?

Hello All!
I have an old Hitachi TV (CMT2579), and it's orginal remote fell victim to endless abuse by my baby brother and is now long gone...
I need to rescan some of the channels and i'm not sure how to do it mannually or if it is at all possible...
If anyone has a clue, or could direct me to a link where i could find these instruction I would really appreciate it

Hi Hagar,
I now faced the same problem you had in 2006. I misplaced my remote control. Can you share with me whether CMT2579 can be tuned without the remote control?
How did you resolve your problem?
