Hey guys im trying to repair a Sony KLV-S40A10, the unit turns on you can here the audio from which channels your going through and the back light is lit but no menu and no video what so ever. What do you guys think, Ive tried the old shut it off leave it off and plug it back in trick no luck, Ive got the unit open nothing out of the ordinary any help would be great thanks |

If you hold a flash light up to the screen and hit menu can you see the outline? |

Hey minnie I went and tried holding a flashlight up to the screen hit menu channel +\- and nothing cant see anything. If the room is dark and you turn the unit on there is light coming from both sides of unit but no pic. Any input would be great thanks for the idea minnie |

It's not the inverter, did you try entering the service mode? On the remote display 5 volume up then power? I'm suspecting the A3U board A-1157-870-D. About $160. |

Hey sorry minnie for such a late response, I never tried entering the service mode due to not having a remote for the unit, I tried to get the remote from my buddy but he doesnt have an original, hes using a universal. Do you think it will work using the same sequence on the tv itself? Thanks for the patience in advance |
