can you connect 12 atx output to 5v output of another atx supply or perhaps even same one,are there gnd problems?

NO you can't !! !! !!

These power supply types have NO "floating" output types.

Even if they're equal !

They can supply one type by one with same GND returns.

If you try it, rember that the first thing going bad Is the PCM on the MB, the second are the Hard Drives.

Why would you need to do that? It is a definite NO

If you are looking to increase voltage or current capability, you use a proper design to begin with. It is never recommended to tie different outputs of any power supply together Shocked

As usual seen:

Internet Bullshit for Fools !!!!!!!!!

Why those Fake engineers dont try this on their own Apparates / Devices ????

(and post some REAL results)

This is the same idiocy/mentality seen from an A2 School graduate Idiot asking to repair a MW Oven without any knowledge + instrumentation + related WARNINGS !!!!

(to be clear: It's obvious that if you put in series two supplyies the resulting output voltage is a result of a sum of the voltages of each supply, but how about transient at each stage of current in dynamic mode load, even variable and complex like mixed loads types ?? ?? ?? )

SMPS types, if they're not specifically designed to be "floating technology type" , can NOT DO THIS !!!!

I.E. matching Batteryes CAN DO !

Best times & Fun in the D.I.Y (Destroy It Yourself)

unscrewing PCB off the case makes gnd float (floats anyway when you plug it in the 2 pin wall socket)
and possibly each will set its current to Vtotal/Load and regulate just it's own output voltage?(though ohms second law gets a bit in the way)

Not with mixed/complex loads and with poor engineered / developed modern power supply. (The're not DC "Pure")

(Power supply units with Overlapped or Overlapping capabilities outputs Are Expensive and Professional grade devices, surently not PC or similar supply Types.)

Sorry but Developing and Engineering Electronics is not simple that way !

the question is actually what kind of dynamic(small signal) transfer function between output and load and also output and ac input variation you get when you connect the 2, and do you have a proper output error signal

Exactly, well said, you get it finally.

well that also depends on the pwm inside if it is tl494 or voltage mode control what do yu think can v1 and v2 be regulated ok if v1+v2=r*i12 musti
be valid at all times
