I received a Panasonic 51" rear projection tv (PT-51HX40B) with a supposed power supply problem. When I first turned it on it "clicked" once, then just made high pitched "beeps" afterwards, which would not stop until the power plug was pulled. Have no picture and no sound.

I took the back cover off and pulled the power supply board out and found a blown ceramic capacitor. C555(loc) ECKD3D122JB CAP,C .0012UF-J-2KV is the part that I need. I've been searching for days for it and have not succeeded. Can anyone tell me where I can get the part or (pardon my electronics inexperience) can I solder together two 600pF 2kV capacitors in series together to get a total 1200pF 2kV??? Or can I substitute that part with the easily obtainable 1000pF (or 1500pF) 2kV capacitor? And also seems to be impossible to find one that is less than 10% tolerance, and the manual asks for 5%. Should this be a big deal to me? Thanks.

eBay. Everything is on there.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/20-pcs-High-Voltage-Ceramic-Capacitor-2KV-2200pF-222-/110527927932?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19bbfa567c

I think you may find that more than just that capacitor has failed on the board... The beeps you hear are actually being emitted by the chopper transformer, and is known as 'tripping'. This indicates a problem with the power supply, such as a short on an output. Basically, the chopper tries to start up, a fault conditions causes it to shutdown, then it re-tries again, and so on.
