red light flashes 5 times pauses flashes 5 pauses also picture discolouration set switches itself off after several hours,anyone out there know why?

5 flashes on that model of sony is an auto grey scale failure wich would also explain the discoloured picture. check a1 setting, also c513 is known to expand and vent, if it has replace it and add a 10nf 250v cap in parallel with c710.
