Panasonic TX-51p250 RPTV stuck in standby

Hi everyone,

I have been offered a 4 year old 51" Panasonic Rear projection TV model number TX-51P250H.

It has a problem that has supposedly been identified as a Faulty U-Board but I am unable to confirm this as I have not yet had a look at the TV. The TV does not display a picture nor has any sound output it just refuses to wake from standby.

I would like an opinion on whether this would be worthwhile purchasing in it's faulty state and repairing. Does it sound as though the U-Board is at fault even?
