Philips projection TV model 50p8341 picture & sound went

My Philips projection TV model 50p8341 picture and sound went out. Can I repair this myself and what do I need to repair it?

Basic check only: Unplug your unit, open cover and check all fuses. Also check for loose connections or connector to sockets. Replace busted fuse/s with the same rating/specifications. If the replaced fuse/s became busted again, it means you have bigger problem and you need help from qualified personnel to repair your unit.

Just be very very careful of any voltage/s present inside the unit. There may be filter capacitors with stored voltages even with the unit powered off and unplugged.
