I have a 32" Magnavox TV set that has lately been freezing up, not allowing you to switch channels, or turn the set off, or adjust volume, etc. If you unplug the tv, it often will not turn back on. Does anyone know why this might be happening and if there is any repair that would fix this problem?

Do the front controls work in case of the freezing up? If this is the case maybe the IR receiver in the tv is not working well.
It sounds stupid but it is also possible that it has something to do with your Scart inputs. Some DVD players or VCR's ground certain points in the tv if connected with scart. Disconnect all scart related equipment and try!
Not all the scart sockets are wired the same way so it possible that you will only have to change the scart inputs. For example : DVD player in EXT1 causes the trouble, plug it in EXT 2 and try.
