phillips hts3410d home theater system

I have a Phillips hts3410d home theater system I have installed it correctly its used I got it for free the disc spins and plays it displays on my TV but the display on the unit itself does not work nor the sound any ideas on wat to look at and wat to replace I have no intentions of sending it in I would like to repair it myself i have knowledge on repairs but not with diagnosing the issues
