I'm having trouble isolating the problem to this set.
The standby 5V isn't there and the voltages around the STR-A6169 controller IC wasn't right so I changed it out and it still doesn't have standby +5. Is there a common problem with these and are any ideas as to what to look at next? |

Can you elaborate? Pins 5, 7 & 8 all above 250v; pin 2 has 21.5v? _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

pins 5, 7, & 8 all seem to be at 321 volts and pin 2 has 12.3V. I looked at D663 which seems to be the supply for pin 2 and it is at 12.3 as well.
D664 is at zero and when I remove the fused resistor R675, D664 stays at zero. Diode check of both D663 & D664 using my multimeter gives .5 forward bias and infinite reverse bias so both seem okay. |

Primary of T661 is pins 4/6.
What's going on at IC621/Q661/Q662? MCZ3001UB high-failure part on other Sony's. _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

Check D664 to see if it's shorted. |

D663 and D664 check fine on a diode checker and I even swapped them to see what happens, no change. R667 & R668 are also reading 10 ohms like they are supposed to so I don't know why I'm not getting 20v off that diode. Isn't T661 pin 2 a secondary side of the transformer and that is all fired from IC661 to T661 pin 4?
jt1957 asked about IC621 and I get:
1= 3.5v
2= 1.2v
3= .2v
5= 0v
12= 0v
14= 0v
15= 0v
16= 0v
17= 0.2v
20= 0v
21= 140v
22= 156v
23= 156v |
