Looking for the Philips Gogear MP3 flash player model SA178/17 schematics that can probably be found in the service manual. Schematics for models of the SA17x series would surely do.

Unfortunately there is no service documentation available for these players.

Are you sure about that? I found manuals for other players from Philips (namely the SA220/230/235, HDD1420/1620/1635 and HDD6320/6330). However, they are too different to be of any use. Isn't there at least one service manual for a player in the SA1xx series?

Indeed the SA220/230 (but not SA235) and HDDxxxx are available but not the SA1xx series you are looking for. No service manuals for those models.
