JVC GZ-MS110BEK Camera not functioning

Hey guys,

Unfortunately a member of my family managed to jam in the wrong charger, forcing 11V through the DC input (unsure of polarity - 5.2V normally). Apparantly the charge light began to flicker and then went out completely and won't come back on with the normal charger or the battery. Now nothing happens at all when turned on.

I dismantled it and went looking for fuses / etc, and found two on the main PSU board, however they are both still intact (0 ohm resistance - F601 and F602).



Can anyone tell me what the "3W" black chip is? I measured the voltage from a known ground to both pins on the chip - on the 3 side is 3.6V (Battery voltage), on the W side is 0.34V.



The two octagonal metal things seem to heat up after a while (and get VERY hot).
