I have a 36 inch jvc tv I bought in ninty eight its been perfect. Until wife was watching tv one night said screen went from fine to thin horizontal line/sound and tuner fine. I turned it on got normal picture for a minute then it went to horizontal thin line. sound and tuning of different channels seems to work when I turned off set a white dot appeared for a second. second time I turned it on no raster at all sound still good no thin horizontal line no on screen menus vol,clock,,,,etc. could any one tell me what I should ck vertical deflection, diodes,caps,etc. any help would be greatly appreciated thanx alot kenny

first resolder the vertical section..for possible loose connection 2nd replace capacitors,100 uf/50v,1000 uf/35v,1 uf/50v and try replacing vert. ic.also check the voltage at pin 2 it must be atleast 12v..ok?

ok..1st try resoldering the vertical section for possible loose connection 2nd try replacing capacitors in the vertical 100 uf/50v,1000 uf /50v etc.3rd check pin 2 voltage of the vertical ic it should be around 12v.if not replaced the ic..ok?
