Remote control programming

I recently got a used tv/vcr combo and replaced another tv in my bedroom. I have Dish Network so I am trying to program the remote to work on this new tv. I plugged in the wire and get nothing but a blue screen. I got codes from Dish network and tried them all but none work. They suggested calling Philips company (the maker of the tv) but they gave me codes that didn't work either. Does anyone have any other suggestions to try?

You could try the search option as most universal remotes have this option incase the code is not listed but I found that most universal remotes offer limited functions that usually exclude tunning. You may have to purchase an original or branded type.

They told me how to scan to find a code, but that method wasn't successful either. I gave up and put the old tv back in.
