Panasonic TX2178 LOPT/X Failed?

After so many years, this set has given up the ghost, no sound or picture. I've been told the LOPT/X has failed & a replacement cannot be found.

Does anyone else know different?

I have a DSP-A970 and its shuts off after about 3 seconds when I try to power it on.
I havent been able to find any kind of trouble shooting guide on this thing and I was hoping to get some input as to what could be the problem. I am an RF technician and quite familiar with circuit repair. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
