Hi.
I'm trying to repair my Sony DHC-MD333. The main ELD has suddenly become very dim - the display is just visible in a darkened room! I presume the supply to the ELD grid is faulty. How is the supply/driver for this supply generated?
The display board is easy enough to explore, but the rest of the boards in this machine were clearly not designed to be repaired! Before I start disassembling it would be great to know roughly where to look.
Thanks

Hi,
in my case it was faulty zener (D534) in negatine supply + resistor (R531) feeding it, in the middle wing board on the right side. In wire JW 589 connecting the board to main board should be c. -32V.
You need to remove lot of things. Be very carefull removing the flat cables when disassembling ...they brake very easily.
