I have viewsonic 3252 which has a bad power supply. I am thinking of ordering a new power supply from viewsonic for $88. However, when I opened the back panel of my tv and found the power supply, I saw that it is connected with the folowing: one three pins connector with a cable goes to the power, one 12 pins connector to some electronic board on the side of the power supply, and one black coloured cable which has a few thiner wires soldered to the power supply board. I see also that the isolation of this cable is opened and metal klip connects it to the metal panenel with one screw. I have problem with the last one. It goes below the power supply within the tv and I have no ides how to diconnect it (I am not very good in soldering) and then how to connect the new one when I buy it. Any help would be appreciate it very much.

First please try to be registered , it is simple and easier later to have news from you. By PM (Private Message) if you don't want to give your e-mail. But to register you need an active valid e-mail.
If the wires are soldered it should be a connector on the other end....
Now I have stayed on the level of the PSU to dismantle the IISONIC, then I don't know how to acces to LCD backlight.
Also give more detail on the FSP label (serial number or a picture?)

Thank you for your quick reply. I think that I am registered otherwise would not be able to receive the email message informing me that there is a reply. My email address is: [email protected]. I don't know how to put it in my profile so that it would be available to everyone wishing to contact me. I am trying to attach a picture of my power supply, but if not successful will email you if you don't mind. I do not know where is the serial number but found some number on the top of it which is: BKO 102800106.

thanks

hello everybody

I found this thread browsing google results for LCD TV viewsonic N3260 problems

I have this model with a display problem, with the backlight flashing quickly and the power supply buzzing synchronously with the backlight flash

I think the problem might come from the PSU, or the backliht inverter board

do someone have any idea of what the failure might be? I tried to find any dry solder on the psu board but in vain, and I don't have any schematics or so

If you have already encountered the same problem, please tell me

you may contact me at tatwane at hotmail dot com

I'll also take a look at this forum when I can

merry christmas and happy new year to all

Shrad have contacted me but I had missed his precedent e-mail.
He gives me news this night.
His PSU is FSP228-3F01.

The failure is located on the 24v circuit. Chimical capacitors are bumped.
Replaced by equivalent from unused electronic boards.

Then this looks simple to fix.
(take good quality, low "ESR" type for switching PSU)

I also have the bad capacitor problem; my tv will not even turn on. I found C33 was most impressively blown apart, and several others are stressed (silver tops are bulging upward). They are CS19, 21, 22, & 28. If you see this on your boards, I would recommend replacing them and double their voltage rating. I suspect other problems but have not had time to troubleshoot. A good source for replacement boards is Ebay (US); I just missed getting one for $80 US.

Regards

Hi and thanks to this forum I have repaired one FSP power supply but now I have a Darfon 4H B0280.001 D that I need help with. The top of U401 has blown completely off and I can't identify that chip. Can someone please tell me what the part number is for U401? The area around U702 is heat damaged so I think that I will have problems in that area as well but without knowing what U401 is, I have no hope of repairing this unit.
