Harman/Kardon Receiver

Hello!

I have an AVR300RDS receiver. When I connected the receiver to power and press the power button it stays in standby mode and appears the message " **PROTECT" on the panel display.
What the possible reason for this problem and how can I fix it.

The two most common reasons: Speaker terminals shorted together or Shorted output transistor(s).
