Toshiba Bomba 29n5dxe

I have a fairly old Toshiba and have just been given a samsung DVD recorder video player. After setting it up, I'm getting the TV channnels through without any problem on the Bomba but can't see DVDs or videos I play. I can't find a channel which shows them althought the DVD and video are working. The Samsung shows dvd's loading and running. Need help to restablish the video channel. I used to use channel 1 but it just has "snow" showing now.
