I have an old Viewsonic N2751w with the FSP212-3F01 power supply. Recently, the TV died. There are no lights when plugged in/switched. I've removed the PS but don't notice any obvious damage to any caps/components. Is there a good way to check power output with the PS installed. I'd like to confirm before I buy the replacement PS. Any help is appreciated.

Take a DVM and measure the plug-in connectors. Most I've seen are marked with the voltages.

I have an n3250w with a blown chip on my Darfon 4h.B0280.001/CS2. I accidentally bought FSP228-3F01,a board for the n3260. It doesn't have the same connectors, but I was wondering if somebody had a pinout so I can try soldering the connectors. Has anyone tried this?

I think it's for the 3260, that or the 3251. Either way it's wrong and I didn't see anybody with my situation in the thread. Sad

It's held together with tabs. I pryed open with a small knife along the joint. You will notice a small slot, that is where the tabs are. Tabs are on the top, sides, and bottom. I cannot rember how many there are. 10 or so.

Actually, I just got mine apart after reading your comment, and there are 27 separate clips.

You can see about 1/3 of them with the little slot indents on the sides and bottom.

I stood the TV on it's bottom, and worked the clips on the side that I could see, using a screwdriver with a taped end. Once the sides are popped, I lied it flat on a towel and worked the bottom inward with the driver.

Then lift the bottom up slightly, then work the top. It will pop pop pop and off it comes.

I have a Viewsonic N3251w that has a bad power supply. The N3856VA chip gets very hot and the area on the opposite side of the PCB is darkened. The backlight will turn of after a while and there is a loud high pitched noise while the backlight is off. Every time the backlight turns off, the sound also slightly lowers in volume, but this is only during the fraction of a second that it takes for the backlight to turn off. Once the backlight is off, the sound returns to normal volume. I think this is because the problem with the backlight power circuit overloads the rest of the power supply. The video does not return sometimes, even after the backlight comes on so it must be affecting the power to the video board too.

I am going to replace the 3 1000uF capacitors near the backlight power connector to see if they are the cause of the N3856VA chip overheating. If that doesn't work then I will replace the chip.

That was me that posted the last message. For some reason it did not log me in when I posted.
