Mitsubshi HS-E12 VCR problem

Hi,

I've a set of the above VCR that do the following stunts:

- Sometimes there's no picture on screen (only blue screen on TV); OSD is ok when I press the "Menu" button on remote control

- The "INDX" indicator keeps flashing and it goes into auto play each time u load in a tape. Irregardless whether the tape is write protected or not.

This is a European set with PAL system only.

Found out something else abt the set...

Sometimes at initial power up (ie. plug in from mains), the FL display flashes "INDX" (I think it means "Index"). There's when the set fail to display picture on TV but sound's ok. At the same time, the OSD works. Also, the set will play tape automatically once you load tape.

Usually the set will go back to normal after u power off from mains and on again.

What could be the problem?!
